From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a diverse cast of characters, and a thrilling plot including celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the latest installment of Campaign 4 are included.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
The third episode ended with a dramatic pause and presented the first table of characters who will branch out from the central cast to begin their own adventure, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (played by Travis), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, weaving together the characters’ stories before branching into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a typically action-packed fight-heavy gameplay experience where non-violent answers are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might appear mismatched, but the events of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the party knows exactly where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the campaign’s events—used the foes for his own means, invading the hidden lair, attacking Thimble, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.
Casimir then settled his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the remote area, north of the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each adventurer has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a hostile location.
- The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the team access locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to Wicander for his rescue and will now accompany him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and Wicander turned against the influential house and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by House Halovar.
This means them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in quest for the traitor.
