Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "break" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to publicize the upcoming bout.
Ex two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami's Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will really want to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
Despite those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a credible opponent," he said.
Jake Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the television network - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
However, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making substantial paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really going ahead.
