Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been won on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his initial title for over two years with victory over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a difficult year, winning just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.

His unpredictability on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his service game in especial - led to him falling of the elite rankings and ultimately parting ways with long-term coach his previous coach.

Currently working with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the past month - climaxing in a hard-fought competitive triumph over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents Medvedev's maiden title following the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court after March of 2023.

The win also means the Russian has won twenty-one titles at twenty-one distinct events.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my children together, so to win a title is especially meaningful," said tennis professional Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my older daughter her name was born was for her."

The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his previous six finals, featuring in Halle previously this season.

His defensive approach and regular outbursts on the playing surface had caused some to doubt if his skill to perform at the highest level was over.

Yet the 29-year-old has altered his approach in the past month, striving to come to the net and play aggressively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.

Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.

The competitors swapped service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his maiden tour championship, gained dominance to force a third set.

He defended four early-game break points in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev secured a break to 15 to secure the win.

Appropriately, Medvedev earned the title with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman failing to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
